If you are into rape, rape, and more rape that overshadows the plot, then this manhwa is for you. Also, don’t let the cover photo let you get the trick that it’s a fluffy one. Personally, it wasn’t my type to read. But the character design which was weaponized with beauty compelled me to read this distorted and dark yaoi manhwa.

Rape, trauma, PTSD, sexual and mental abuse, kidnapping, Stockholm syndrome, and suffering. Furthermore, fucked up, crazy, and possessive characters. And a clear representation of an abusive and toxic relationship.

36. Unfather

Yoon Kyunghee, a college student, was running out of cash for his college fees. He started using his body to earn money. His sugar daddy was Sihyun. But soon Kyunghee ended the relationship when Sihyun started becoming clingy and demanding. One day, Kyunghee went to meet her mother’s boyfriend. That turns out to be none other than Shiyun. A story of obsession, blackmail, manipulation, and twisted desire. The smutty scenes are one to look for. Also, there was a lack of character development and a rushed ending. Hence, a decent dark yaoi manhwa read.

Obsession, hate, and manipulation. That’s what we get here. Also, it has a beautiful character design and that mole near Eunsung’s left eye just killed me.

The story displays the obsession level to its peak. As you proceed to read, the story gets darker and twisted than ever. The story also includes other dark themes, such as imprisonment, rape, torture, attempted murder, and gruesome scenes. In short, it’s a fucked up short manhwa.

Also, the plot development was quite bland and lacked character development. I personally didn’t like the characters. It wasn’t my cup of tea but many readers liked it. So, try giving this dark yaoi manhwa a read.

This twisted and dark yaoi manhwa deals with obsessive and abusive relationships. Moreover, we are served with distinctively drawn characters and obviously, we have spicy scenes to quench our thirst.

Kim Dohyun is a 28 years old guy who’s struggling to make ends meet by working in a cell phone scam business. As if this wasn’t enough on the plate, he suddenly was knocked unconscious, got kidnapped, and woke up being tied and locked up in an isolated warehouse. And finds a strange scar-faced guy standing in front of him, asking him multiple times: “Do you remember?”. Who’s this mysterious guy and will Dohyun be able to remember his past?

The story deals with confinement, kidnap, rape, Stockholm syndrome, abuse, traumatic experience, abandonment, betrayal, resentment, and obsession. 

It has a plot with lots of potentials but as the story progresses, the interest fades away a bit. Although the plot development was low but the aesthetically captivating art and a decent plot might be enough to hold you to read it till the end.

28. Rent Boy

Anton Arnault, the sole heir of the Arnault family, recently came of age. And according to the customs, he gets access to the Cyrene salon. A salon for high positioned people where they discuss influential topics and is also an upper-class brothel. Anton demanded number one of the brothel: Arwin. And after one evening together, Anton is unable to take Arwin out of his head and his curiosity for Arwin escalates.

The art is gorgeous with pretty characters. Immerseful, dark and an emotional storyline with a twisted ending. Also, the smutty juicy scenes are one to look for.

27. See You Again

Shiwoo Lee and Yujin Ha always used to stick together as they were close neighbors and childhood friends. But they fell apart when Yujin finally confessed to Shiwoo and got rejected. Years later, Shiwoo, the famous and charming celebrity, recently met his new female manager, Yujin, and he’s quite pretty. He? Wait What?

Fluffy at first, darker eventually topped with some cute humor. This manhwa portrays trauma, abuse, blackmail, coercion and mental and physical abuse. Also, it’s about coping with the trauma and defeating the traumatic experiences.

The visuals are appealing. So, let’s discover smuttiness all the way with a decent plot!

26. Painter Of The Night

Baek Na-Kyum is a gifted painter who paints erotic paintings of men engaging in sodomy under a pseudonym. But due to some reason, he decides to not paint anymore. His life went downhill when his paintings caught the attention of Yoon Seungho, a notorious and merciless temperamental nobleman, who engage in promiscuity. So, Seungho tracks Nakyum down and forces him to become his private painter. Thus, it led to the beginning of misery and hell for Nakyum. 

The author provided a historical take on yaoi manhwa. This manhwa is rendered with exquisite and immaculate art style with realism. Thus, a true beauty to behold with those beautifully drawn facial expressions and emotions.

The story deals with some heavy themes including rape, abusive relationship, kidnap, torture, humiliation, lust, obsession, and social hierarchy. Also, intriguing storyline, characters with depth, character and relationship development (Gradually), and loots of sex! Although it has some plot holes and is not very dark yaoi manhwa but this twisted plot is a delightful read.

Ps. Nakyum is a true cinnamon roll who needs to be protected! Period.

25. Interview With A Murderer

Clark Kang’s, a reporter, loves to investigate crimes and collect data and records of them. He was requested by his ex-boyfriend, a psychiatrist, to interview one of his current patients. That turned out to be none other than Alex, the triage serial killer, who is still at large. But in return for giving the interview, Alex demanded Clark have sex with him.  The truth will be revealed and so will be the true personalities when they both move ahead.

A refreshing plot brewing with thriller and crime. Also, it has complex layered characters and nice art. This dark yaoi manhwa is about manipulation, love, and past trauma.

The story have some plot holes. Also, it ended up with many unanswered questions and I would have liked some detailed backstories of the characters. Thus, a good read.

24. The Perfect Relationship

Shin Minjae is the perfect adopted son, he prepares meals, is caring, smart and popular. A son a father would be proud of. But Hyukjoon (His adoptive dad) isn’t. Because Minjae is the one who killed Hyukjoon’s real son. Why did he even adopt Minjae when he loathes him? What could be the ulterior motive behind his decision? Above all, Minjae has been in love with his adoptive dad.

Welcome to another messed up and dark yaoi manhwa. The plot is fucked up and the art is well-drawn. Furthermore, the story deals with child abuse, bullying, trauma, and suicide.

23. Kokoro Wo Korosu Houhou/ How To Kill A Heart

A story of two individuals with dark pasts and damaged souls who are drawn towards each other. Heavy themes incorporated including violence, dark tones, underworld, brainwashing, rape, and murder.

Here, a good and consistent plot meets a beautiful art but with a bittersweet ending. Though it has few chapters yet it managed to captivate my attention throughout.

The plot is dark, the characters are darker and the art is the darkest. Displays gruesome scenes, murder, pedophilia, rape, and everything dark you can think of. Thus, it’s frightening yet fascinating.

20. Chess Pieces/ The Pawn’s Revenge/ The World Of Objects

Je-Oh has been living a hellish life as a pawn. He was burdened with his late father’s loan, became an orphan, and was working as a prostitute at a red light district. He always hoped someone would save him and help him escape this life. His wish finally comes true when he is rescued by Do Seong rok, a serial killer who is on a mission. Besides as the story proceeds, the mission will be revealed and Je-oh will try to play in the game to turn the tables in his favor.

The storyline is quite dark and interesting along with a beautiful art style and interesting and hot characters. Moreover, I can feel it has a powerful potential to be a great thriller and dark yaoi manhwa.

The dark art and quality of smut scenes provide the reader with an enthralling visual experience. Also, it has a decent plot with dynamic characters. It has depicted mental illness, trauma. manipulation, and betrayal.

Though this dark yaoi manhwa had a great amount of potential but sadly it concluded with a rushed ending and left with many unanswered questions.

It portrays a messed up yet intriguing storyline with characters and their relationships. The characters have twisted personalities but also have depth. Also, the manga has eye-pleasing art with lots of smutty scenes. Thus, it’s a guilty pleasure read. So, brace yourself up for some erotic entanglements.

Gabriel decided to become a priest in order to receive salvation for the childhood incident in which he blames himself for the death of his friend and first love, Salio. What will happen when Gabriel reunites with Salio? Where does this relationship take these three to?

This dark yaoi manhwa is served with a decent plot with plot twists and appealing art.

The story leans more towards horror and disturbing scenes along with plot twists. Though the ending was rushed, it’s still worth a read.

Lee Woojin has been wishing to escape reality. Woojin was confessed by Kim Hwon who claims to fall in love with him at first sight and wants to be with him. But Woojin started playing and messing with him by fooling around and leaving him. But that didn’t make Hwon give up on Woojin.

In the beginning, even if you feel like stopping reading this manhwa, Don’t Stop! It’s worth the read. The story dealt with heavy issues, including abuse, suicide, trauma, depression, and stalking. A twisted and dark story of romance and revenge of two twisted individuals. Thus, a pleasantly crafted storyline and art along with unexpected plot twists.

13. Mantis Cage/ Tourou No Ori

It’s raw, it’s dark, it’s deep. Also, it includes mature themes like rape, abuse, BDSM,  painful past, violence and the mafia world. 

This well crafted dark yaoi manga was adapted into an anime film trilogy in 2020. So, give it a watch as well.

It has an intriguing storyline along with subplots. It is set up in a dystopian setting. Moreover, we have detailed characters design and background and well-characterized broken characters with depth who are interconnected. Also, it has child abuse, trauma, prostitution, violence, and gang wars.

As the story proceeds, it becomes dark and deep enough to let you drown in. So, let’s unfold secrets and hidden pasts in this emotional ride.

But suddenly creepy stalking things start happening with Shoukichi and Fukusuke seems to be his saviour. This helped them get closer. But be it things or people, what they seem to appear isn’t exactly what they are in reality….

It’s a well-illustrated manhwa with a unique, realistic, and well-crafted plot. 

The story deals with obsession, possessiveness, control, abuse, rape, manipulation, and stalking. In short, a messed up dark yaoi manga topped up with psychological twists and horror elements.

Also, don’t forget the juicy smutty scenes along with a psychopath on the plate. The darkness, horror, and suspense are enough to send chills down your spine. So, get ready for some nail-biting psychological and thriller plot.

Tae Joon, an outgoing and popular guy, is studying and training to join the police force. He has an unexplained scar on his palm and has no recollection of his childhood memories due to experiencing a traumatic incident when he was a child.

While apartment hunting, he encounters Jung Yeon Woo who claims to be his childhood best friend. One thing led to another and they ended up being housemates. But after moving in, Joon started being haunted by hallucinations more frequently, along with weird sexual dreams and nightmares of severed hands groping him. Moreover, living with Yeon Woo is helping Joon in regaining bits of his memories. 

So, explore this dark yaoi manhwa as it unveils the dark truth, lost memories, the mysteries of the black room, and the evaporation cases. Also, the story portrays mental health, crime, horror, and chilling suspense.

Intriguing and a unique plot, gorgeous art style and colour scheme, nice chemistry, and complex characters with dark backstories. It’s scary yet satisfying. So, get ready to be on the edge of your seats because shit is going to be interesting.

They fell in love when they were young and decided to form a band, Dark Heaven. But sadly they broke up due to some tragic event. It’s a story of their struggle against a cruel society. 

This manhwa portrays harsh and dark realities and triggering topics including hate crimes, homophobia, racism, human rights, corruption, xenophobia, abuse, and much more.

It has a realistic, complex, and well-paced plot with thought-provoking dialogues and well-fleshed characters. Also, humour was integrated here and there. Though the art style wasn’t my thing, the heavy plot and dark yaoi theme compelled me to be emotionally invested in this manhwa. This masterpiece truly deserves more recognition!

To his surprise, the summoning ceremony was a success and he managed to summon the Archduke of the Demon World, J. J agreed to grant his twisted hidden desires in exchange for his life, for which Makato agreed. His twisted desire turned out to be, “I want to eat your guts”. But wait! Why is Makato reborn as a demon in hell?! 

The story doesn’t shy away from cannibalism, rape, decapitation, prostitution, and a hell loot of gruesome gore scenes laced with humorous elements. 

The dark gritty and striking art style complements the riveting storyline with plot twists. Also, the character design is drop-dead gorgeous. Here we get lovable and twisted characters. So, let’s enjoy reading this manga where the main characters eat the guts of a demon.

04. The Beast Must Die

Lee Gi-Rin approaches one of the members of the secret club, Kang Mu, in order to gain access to being a member of the club by pretending to be Kang Mu’s partner. His motive? To avenge the death of his sister, who committed suicide after being gang-raped by the five of the members of the secret club. But he wasn’t aware what lies ahead are much more hard challenges he has to face than he anticipated. 

The author did a commendable job in portraying real psychology and psychopathic traits. The story also deals with bloody and intense scenes, rape, and suicide. 

The character design was darkly captivating with powerful characters and their development. Also, it has a well-written and well-executed plot with calculative plot twists and turns. It’s Intense. It’s Interesting. And it’s Intriguing. Thus, one of the finest psychological thriller dark yaoi manhwa I have read so far.

03. J No Subete

The story is set in the United States in the 1950s. J, a beautiful guy with a beautiful female voice, was mesmerized by the charms of Marilyn Monroe since he was a child. To be like her, he started cross-dressing and liked to sing to be able to express himself.

This manga explores some heavy subjects including child abuse, incest, rape, bullying, suicide, homophobia, prostitution with unsettling graphics. It portrays the stages and sexuality struggles of J’s life and how J overcomes the scars, suffering, past, and pain. Also, it’s about J embarking on a journey in search of self. 

The beautiful writing skill is complemented by the unique art style, complicated composition and strong characters. Also, the realism of the early era was impressively illustrated. Compelling, realistic and thought-provoking storyline marked by darkness and angsty. 

Thus, highly recommended dark yaoi manga.

02. Zankoku Na Kami Ga Shihai Suru/ A Cruel God Reigns

When the damaged and unstable Jeremy couldn’t take it anymore, he sabotaged Greg’s car. Consequently which led to the death of Greg but his mother was also killed in the accident. Greg’s older son Ian starts suspecting guilt-stricken Jeremy and sets out to find evidence which ties Jeremy to the crime. But during this, he discovers that Jeremy was sexually abused by Greg. Caught in a dilemma was Ian to decide what to do. But in the process, he started lusting for Jeremy. Thus, here begins a new relationship.

A tale of an innocent and pure boy who was polluted and the impact of long-term abuse and prolonged suffering on an individual.

Moreover, the author did a great job in shedding light on some dark themes including sexual and emotional abuse, desperation, mental struggle trauma, redemption, paedophilia, prostitution, drugs, suicide, etc. 

It’s a powerful story with dark realism and symbolism along with realistic and well-fleshed characters. Also, the illustrations are beautiful and breathtaking. Thus, an absolute classic must-read.

01. Killing Stalking

Obsession can drive an individual to take desperate decisions. One such individual is Yoon Bum.

Yoon Bum, an introverted, loner, and a mentally unstable guy with a scraggy physique, have a crush on Oh Sangwoo, an outgoing, handsome, and popular guy in school. But it turned into an obsession when he started relentlessly stalking him. Obsession and infatuation drove Bum to sneak into Sangwoo’s house, which he was successfully able to do. But little did he know that walking in Sangwoo’s basement and discovering something gruesome could turn his life upside down. The basement leads to the ending of his current life and the beginning of a tragic and twisted relationship of two unstable and traumatized individuals.

An abundance of intense triggering themes including gore, homophobia, childhood trauma, kidnapping, murder, rape, nudity, abusive adults, self-harm, and mental disorders, including BPD.

Realistic and detailed art with dark tones, beautiful character design, and expressions, complex layered characters, and a gripping plot. Furthermore, it’s a train wreck of emotions that halts at the end of the manhwa but remains in our minds forever.

Ps. Don’t romanticize or fetishize the extremely abusive relationship displayed in this manhwa. Even though it is part of the yaoi genre but it’s primarily a psychological thriller manhwa.
