Top 11 Mystery Webtoons
1. Escape Room
This is my number one favorite mystery webtoons. You all might have watched the Squid game. Escape Room has the same theme.
Sean is the main character of the story. But he is too rational. He looks at everything rationally. It makes people feel awkward around him. That’s why most of the people from his class avoid him.
One day after drinking, he passes out and wakes up in a strange room. But unlike normal people, he doesn’t freak out but starts to find out a way to get out of that room.
After sometimes he gets to know that he is part of an escape room where he has to solve puzzles and use them to get into the next stage.
But this is not a normal escape room game. In this game, one mistake can cost him his life. Plus he has to compete with other players to survive. Sometimes even kill them to survive.
His rational thinking helps him a lot to get through all of the problems.
I really love this webtoon. It’s unfortunate that it doesn’t get much attention like other webtoons. But please give it a try. You will really enjoy it.
This webtoon shows that being overly rational is not always good. But it can save your life in the escape room.

2. Purple Hyacinth
This is the most popular mystery webtoons. I really liked the art and the story of this one.
Lauren is a police officer. But she is not a normal police officer. She has a mysterious ability with the help of it she can detect lies. This ability helps her a lot in her job.
The group named, The Phantom Scythe, has been terrorizing the city for over ten years. Our main character Lauren wants to find the leader of that group and kill him. Not out of just responsibility. But due to her personal grudge. She lost someone special in a terror attack that happened 10 years ago caused by this group.
But even after trying all these years, she couldn’t find their leader. But one day by some circumstances she meets this hot assassin named The Purple Hyacinth who asks her to work together. Purple Hyacinth is the most fearsome assassin in the Phantom Scythe group. He has always killed his target without fail. But the police don’t even know how he looks. Lauren is the only one who has seen him. But he too wants to find the leader of this group and kill him.
So they start working together. Now both of them try to solve mysteries in the city together while also falling for each other. This webtoon has both mystery and romance genres. So you can enjoy both.
3. Pigpen
This is a daily pass webtoon series. You need to unlock episodes each day to read them. Yeah, it’s frustrating. But believe me, it’s worth it.
A young boy wakes up on an island. But he doesn’t remember who he is or how did he come to that island? He only knows that he was on a ship that got into an accident. While wandering on the island he passes out. And next, he wakes into a house. After inquiring, he gets to know that he was saved by a younger daughter of that house. But this family which rescued him isn’t normal at all. They keep avoiding his questions and even behave strangely.
But he has to live with them as he doesn’t have any way out of the remote island.
As the story progresses you will really enjoy this mystery webtoons.
This story is a roller coaster ride and has lots of plot twists. And I forgot to mention that the author of this webtoon is Carnby Kim who is popular for his series named Bastard and Home Sweet Home.
4. Distant Sky
The next one in our mystery webtoons list is distant Sky.
Something happened and the whole world fell into darkness. Among the chaos, a boy wakes up in his school. Everything around him is a mess. All building has collapsed. There are number of student corpses lying around. And everything is dark. He tries to find ways around and some small mysterious bugs attack him. He can’t understand what’s happening. Then he meets a girl. She guides him through this hell world. Though she too doesn’t know what caused this crisis. But in this world, they are not alone. There are other survivors too. And even crazy people and animals who try to kill everyone. Still, both of them try to survive this hellish world together.
Lots of unique phenomenons are shown in this webtoon. It makes it more interesting. Also, I love its unique art and character design. It’s a really good thriller, horror and mystery webtoons. Do give it a try.
5. Killstagram
In this era, everyone is addicted to social media. Lots of personal information is exposed to the whole world through them. This webtoon clearly shows what are pros and cons of social media.
Remi Do is a young and beautiful girl. She is an Instagram influencer with lots of followers. As you all know, with fame come stalkers. (～>▽ <)～
So she also has a stalker. But he is not a normal stalker. He is a serial killer.
Even after a warning from her friend Jia, Rumi doesn’t pay any heeds. And still keeps posting on Instagram.
Well, she had to pay its price. Stalker finds lots of information about her from her posts and goes after her.
Remi acts annoyingly and dumbly at first but later you will like her after some character development.
But believe me, it’s not a normal stalker story. It has a bigger plot waiting for you. It has really good art. So give it a try.
6. It’s Mine
Here comes another popular series in the mysterious webtoons list.
Dajeong is a normal high school girl. But she has a stalker named Yohan Lee. He stalks her at school, at her part-time job, and everywhere she goes. He has one-sided crush on her. He can do anything to protect her at any cost. He even beats up people who were bullying Dajeong.
I know this sounds like a normal yandere romance story where a boy stalks a girl he likes. But nope. It’s not a normal story. After some time this story takes a crazy turn and becomes a mystery and psychological story. And that’s why I am adding it to the mystery webtoons list.
Now I don’t want to spoil you. So to know that plot twist you have to read this webtoon.
7. Dr. Frost
The author of this webtoon has studied psychology. So This webtoon is about the mystery of the human mind. If you are a fan of psychological stories then this is the best webtoon for you. This webtoon explains lots of human behavior and related facts.
The main character of the series is Dr. Frost. He is a psychologist. He works as a college professor by day and bartender by night. But his ways of treating people are different than other psychologists. He believes that all humans are the same. Different people are just a manifestation of one person. Just like this unique belief, he solves people’s problems uniquely. It’s really entertaining to read how he handles the situation.
Its art is average compared with other webtoons. That’s why I avoided reading it all these years. But I thought to give it a try while making this list. But trust me, the story is really good. And it needs more recognition. I guess most of people avoid reading this webtoon because of its art just like me. It’s a hidden gem if you are into mystery and psychology. Do give it a try.
8. Uriah
This webtoon is about a boy who wakes up in an unknown car on a mysterious island. His hands are tied up and he doesn’t remember who he is or what is he doing in that car. While wandering around, he comes across a girl on a motorcycle. She helps him untie his hands. But that boy has lots of scars on his hand. The thumb of one of his hands was missing too. And to surprise that wounded part was intentionally taped with duct tape. ( Damn you. Imagine taking off duct tape out of the wounded part. Even reading it sends shivers down my spine. Too much pain. )
She offers to take him to a hospital. But all roads from island to city are mysteriously closed. So there is no way out.
Who is this boy? What happened to him? Why would someone try to impose pain on him intentionally? And what the hell is happening on the island? Let’s find out that in the next episode of Uriah. (Lol. My bad. Sorry.)
This webtoon has some really disturbing gore scenes. If you are a mystery and gore fan, you can check this out.
9. Everything Is Fine
The next one in our mystery webtoons list is Everything is fine.
The summary of this webtoon states that Sam and Maggie are a normal couple, living in a normal house, in a normal neighborhood, with a sweet little dog. Everything is fine.
They are too normal. But are they really? Well nope. Nothing is normal in this story. And nothing is fine.
The strangest thing is these people are wearing cat masks. They never argue with each other. Or get angry. But the main character Maggie sometimes shows her frustration to her husband. It’s like they are forced to stay happy but they are not actually happy. But why?
You just can’t understand what’s happening in the story. But as the story goes on, lots of mysterious things will get revealed. Its plot is bigger than it appears. Its art is kinda cute. It’s totally the opposite of the genre. So it’s a good story for weak-hearted people who can’t stand gore scenes.
10. Deep
One day on the Busan beach, several dead bodies got washed up. But suddenly all of them started waking up.
Our main character was watching this news on the TV. He gets surprised when he sees his dead mother among those dead bodies. But it has been ages since she went missing. And the same thing applies to all other survivors too. All of them had gone missing for years. Some even for 10-15+ years. But mysteriously even after all these years, none of them have aged. Even a kid who was among survivors looks exactly like when she went missing.
But no one knows the reason. As these survivors can’t talk or show emotions. They can’t even move by themselves.
But the most important question is, are they really humans?
This is a really good story. This webtoon has only 44 chapters so if you want to read a series that you can complete in one or two days then go ahead with this one.
11. Chasing Tails
This mystery webtoons is about a homicide case. 9 students were trapped in the collapsed building for two weeks. One student named Seongbin Han recorded a video of all survivors with their blood type just in case. After two weeks they were rescued.
But only 6 survived this incident. Out of which one is unconscious. And most of them are traumatized by the whole incident.
Bodies of the other 3 students were found in a viciously mangled state. That’s why police decided to investigate for possible homicide.
Detective Lieutenant Jeongdo Kwon and neuropsychiatrist Dr. Yeongwha Ju start investigating this locked room murder case to unravel the truth.
But is this a really normal murder case? Or is there any paranormal interference?
This is a new webtoon. It only has 19 chapters released right now. And I liked its art.
