Tokyo Ghoul Season 3 Split-Cour (Tokyo Ghoul:re Season 2) To Air October 2018

Date: 05/05/2018

Surprisingly this news was not really covered much so far. It was recently announced that Tokyo Ghoul:re Season 2 will be airing later this year in October 2018. Well, it wasn’t really announced rather the series status page just quietly updated to show a new season of Tokyo Ghoul:re.

The 12 new episodes set to air in October 2018 as a part of Tokyo Ghoul:re Season 2 will either be the Tokyo Ghoul Season 4 or even as the second part of Tokyo Ghoul Season 3. Without an official clarification from Studio Pierrot, this article will refer it as Tokyo Ghoul:re Season 2.

With Tokyo Ghoul:re Season 2 set to air in October this year, the series can now be classified as a 24 episode series. It’s interesting to see that instead of airing it all in one season they decided to split it up into two. But that’s something more common now since more and more studios are splitting their seasons up instead of airing all at once.

What to expect from Tokyo ghoul:re season 2

Date A Live Season 1 Review (Not Spoiler Free)

Well, in all honesty, I have no idea what you can expect from this new season. Since there is not a lot of info about this new season so there really is nothing to talk about here. No new poster, no trailer, no summary. My guess is the studio will probably wait for the current series to end. Consequently they might be revealing where Tokyo Ghoul:re Season 2 would pick up from when the current airing ends. So I guess we going to have to wait 2 months for that news but I’ll be sure to update this article when that news comes out.

Tokyo Ghoul:re Season 2 will be a wonderful announcement for anime only watchers. Not so much for manga readers.

Safe to say I ain’t enjoying how they are rushing and skipping things but that’s a given from Pierrot Plus studio. So I’ve pretty much dropped the series. So I having nothing to actually say about the series and its current episodes. But of course anime only people are loving it which makes sense since this is after all a good series. Moreover this news of a new season would be wonderful news to them.

As for manga readers though, they are going to have to bear the butchering of their favorite manga for another season because you know now that the series will be 24 episodes. They going to try their best to rush at least 100 chapters of Tokyo Ghoul:re manga into 24 episodes. Oh, happy days….then again there are some manga readers who enjoy the anime so I guess those few would be happy by this news too.

Just a thought about Tokyo Ghoul:re Season 2 and what they could do.

Pierrot Plus is clearly not trying to target manga readers with this anime adaptation. The main target for them are those hardcore extreme anime-only fans. As they really only care about the action and not if the story makes sense, I think it is a smart move from Pierrot Studio for the adaptation of the last fight of the original manga which sets up Tokyo Ghoul:re. I think that would make the story of the first seasons and Tokyo Ghoul:re Season 2 make more sense and maybe make people understand how things lead up to the current point of the story.

Since they do not care about following the manga, they could add in this part of the story any time in season 2 as a flashback. I think that would make the story a bit better. But that’s just what I think. Some might not want this but well let’s see what they will do with Tokyo Ghoul:re Season 2 when it airs.
