Shokugeki no Souma season 4 episode 3 kicks off straight with stage 2. The rebels are off yet again to face a new challenge. However, this time they face challenges individually and not as a team. Making it harder for them to pass, and Central minions laughing diabolically as they break hearts of innocent children. Truly a malicious aura surrounding that central, Nakiris father seems like the devil playing with his victims. He has his pawns, the elite 10, to do his bidding. With them on his side, he might even win. Or is it? As the flame of rebellion ignites in the hearts of young chefs, who shall win in the ending? Well, we know that already, since it’s a shounen. But, what truly interests us, is seeing them get there. And the challenges they will be facing to get that point.
Shokugeki no Souma season 4 episode 3 review
The second stage kicks off with Endo, a Totsuki lecturer and the examiner for this stage. He seems pretty high mighty and all, just like the previous examiner. But seems pretty obvious to me that they will clear the challenge that is up ahead. I’m more worried about what’s going to come after episode 3. But I don’t want to spoil you guys. Only thing I can say is that there is a really hype moment coming soon. The students are presented with a challenge of making noodles. Since noodles are connected to Hokkaido. And as I said in my previous post, all of the food will be focusing on Hokkaido and it’s ingredients. What’s very interesting for me is that I’m lately learning a lot about Hokkaido and might actually do an article about it. Since Golden Kamuy story is also focusing on Hokkaido. From Shokugeki we can see some interesting cooking, ingredients and current touristic forms of Hokkaido. As compared to a post-Russo-Japanese war Hokkaido, and its brutal yet beautiful nature in Golden Kamuy
Sorry, I have gotten a bit off the track, so let me get back into the anime now. Basically, Hokkaido is famous for having a wide variety of ramen, udon, and soba, truly a lot of divers noodle dishes. The students are offered a lot of noodles, basic vegetables and ingredients to pick from for their dish. However, for all the other supplies they have to find them themselves. And the time limit is 3 hours. It all seems pretty easy, until they send off students one by one, and create a time lag of a sort for the rebels.
Rebels get sent last, and there are almost no ingredients left. A bit obvious turn up considering all the past challenges. Their enthusiasm does not waver as they go out to find their ingredients. Although, they then realize that it’s pointless because of some snow storm. This part was a bit badly made for me because the TV reporter said that this snow storm is a rare occurrence at that time of the year. And the examiner was made to look like he was preparing this all like some secret plan. But, if you think about it, he couldn’t have surely known the storm would happen that day, as the news reporter was surprised as well.
Conclusion/What can we expect from episode 4?
Do not worry, I already promised not to share any spoilers for episode 4. However, we must look at one thing the episode challenge concluded on midway through it. On the second part, we got a lot of Nakiri Alice development. She shared some past with her and she also bonded more with Ikumi. I think she is getting a good change of character. I know a lot of people hated her because of her personality. But I think we will be seeing a new side of her from now on. And also a constant conflict of decision. Besides that, at the end of the episode, the rebels were separated. Yukihira, Aldini, Megumi, and Erina go on a different train. There they meet Rindou, one of the Elite Ten. And it ends with her announcing that they will have to face against the elite ten on stage three. Pretty harsh and very fast, I wonder how it will go. (Even though I already know).
