Manga “Golden Kamuy” Gets TV-Anime Adaption

The upcoming double issue of Young Jump magazine is goign to carry some exciting news -- Satoru Noda Award-Winning Manga Golden Kamuy will be getting an anime adaption.

Manga Summary of ‘Golden Kamuy’

In Hokkaido, the far northern lands of Japan, Sugimoto survived the Russo-Japanese war of the Meiji era. Nicknamed “Invincible Sugimoto” during the war, he now seeks the riches promised by the gold rush in hopes of saving the widowed wife of his now deceased comrade from the war. During his hunt for gold, he finds hints of a hidden stash of gold by corrupt criminals. Partnering with an Ainu girl that saves his life from the harsh climates of the north. Together they venture into a survival adventure in a race against the criminals that seek the hidden stash.



Satoru Noda’s Golden Kamuy started and has been ongoing since 2014 in Young jump magazine. The series won the Manga Taisho Award in 2016 for best title beating manga Dungeon Meshi (2nd), Blue Giant (3rd) and Erased (4th). (Source)



Viz Media licensed the manga and started publishing it in English on June 20th 2017.

The manga has got a very good response and we can hope for this anime adaptation to do well too. With a strong plot this anime can stand out this season. Also, it can turn out be a very intersing watch for all the anime viwers.

    On the beginning of the video, it looked like a One Piece reference. But moving on, it became quite interesting.
    The way Viz media does a Trailer is indeed fabulous. Now I want to read this manga right now! But since it is getting an anime adaption, I’ll wait for it.!
