Date: 02/04/2018

The official website for the upcoming Golden Kamuy Anime reveals that the anime will start to premiere on 9th April 2018. Satoru Noda’s Golden Kamuy anime adaptation will have 12 episodes accompanied by three home video releases. With each home release featuring four episodes, they will air in June, July, and August this year, respectively.

Just as always, Crunchyroll will stream it with English subtitles as it airs in Japan, and Funimation will stream it with an English dub later on.

The second Promo Video has released some days ago. It was also announced that the first volume of Blu-ray / DVD will be released on June 26. Furthermore, new character art was also shared.

The series will first air on Tokyo MX and soon followed by stations YTVSapporo TV, and BS11. Furthermore, the site reveals that MAN WITH A MISSION will be performing the show’s opening theme song “Winding Road,” and THE SIXTH LIE will be performing the ending theme song “Hibana.”

With a score of 8.3+ on MAL, Golden Kamuy is one of the most popular manga series in the last few years. Fans of the series are definitely glad. Satoru Noda is the author of the manga.

Here’s the official synopsis for Golden Kamuy‘s anime adaptation:

“In the early twentieth century, Russo-Japanese War veteran Saichi “Immortal” Sugimoto scratches out a meager existence during the postwar gold rush in the wilderness of Hokkaido. When he stumbles across a map to a fortune in hidden Ainu gold, he sets off on a treacherous quest to find it. But Sugimoto is not the only interested party, and everyone who knows about the gold will kill to possess it! Faced with the harsh conditions of the northern wilderness, ruthless criminals and rogue Japanese soldiers, Sugimoto will need all his skills and luck—and the help of an Ainu girl named Asirpa—to survive.”

What We Can Except

Wow, the second PV has got me excited for the anime. Firstly, the art quality is great and the rich art in the anime, like that of the tattoo, highlight the finer aspects of this popular manga. Secondly, the characters are very overpowering. This is something many of the anime have lately been lacking. Finally, I seriously look forward to this action-packed, nerve-wrenching, nail-biting anime.
