Today we are going to talk about why is Bleach One Of The Best Shounen Anime?

After all of these years, Bleach is coming back. Yesssss!!! Bleach is finally getting released in October 2022. I am so excited. I can’t wait till it gets released. Like me, all Bleach fans are going crazy. It has been a very long interval. So I first want to give shout out to all those Bleach fans who never lost hopes and made this anime come back. I know you people are getting so emotional and nostalgic right now. Just a little more waiting till October till we get to watch this masterpiece again.

I watched it 4 years ago. And to be honest I really loved it. My favorite thing about Bleach is its world building and soundtracks. Gosh, I love those soundtracks. No other anime has rock music like Bleach. Every time Ichigo releases his Bankai you literally get goosebumps. ❤❤ And that famous “Number One” opening song. I can’t wait to hear it in the new season.

All those people who haven’t watched Bleach yet and wondering if they should watch it or not? This post is for you guys.

In this article, I am going to give a quick summary of Bleach and all of its seasons.

Bleach

Quick Summary

Bleach is an old shounen anime that was first released in the year 2004. Due to this, its art is mediocre at first but after some time it changes dramatically. Then you can’t help but fall in love with it. So bear with it at the beginning.

Our main character is Ichigo Kurosaki. He has dark orange hair and he is really good-looking.  (Why He is so handsome!!!) He is a teenager who is always on the edge. He always gets into fights with people around him. Of course, he wins every single time.

He has the special ability to see ghosts. Due to this ability, he ends up meeting Shinigami aka soul reaper named Rukia Kuchiki. And then he also becomes a Shinigami.

During the journey, some of his classmates also gain superpowers. So all of them team up and start eliminating Hollows. Hollows are evil spirits that lurk on earth and cause harm to people.

Bleach has a total of 16 seasons and 366 episodes. It does have fillers but truthfully, when I watched bleach, I didn’t even realize that those episodes were fillers. They are really entertaining. So don’t skip them. I will tell you which to skip in the list below.

Characters

I am adding intros of a few characters only. I can’t add all of them as Bleach has numerous characters.

Ichigo Kurosaki

He is the main character of the series. He has orange hair which makes him stand out. Due to this bullies always try to pick a fight with him. But to their surprise, Ichigo is good at kicking asses. So he always ends up winning fights. He also has the power of seeing ghosts. So one day due to some circumstances he ends up becoming the soul reaper.

Ichigo is one of my favorite shonen protagonists. He is handsome and kind. I like his personality. And no other character has gone through a wide variety of character development as him. I love all his forms.

Rukia Kuchiki

She is a lieutenant of the 13th division.

She is so cuteeeeee. I love her. 😍 Ahem.

So Rukia Kuchiki is a soul reaper who belongs to soul society. Because of her Ichigo gets his Shinigami powers. I ship them. I love their relationship. The way Ichigo smiles at her always tempts me to fall in love. I never shipped any other couples as hard as them.

Orihime

She is a classmate of Ichigo Kurosaki.

She is a beautiful and kind girl who is head over heels for Ichigo. She reminds me of Hinata from Naruto. But sorry, dear I don’t ship you with Ichigo.

Orihime has the superpower of healing people.

Yoruichi Shihouin

She first meets Ichigo in her cat form. She is the former captain of the second division. But due to some circumstances, she left her position and soul world. So she works with Kisuke Urahara at his shop. She helps Ichigo and his friends in lots of situations. She is one of my favorite female characters. Bleach is filled with strong female characters. That’s another thing I love about this series.

Uryu Ishida

He is another classmate of Ichigo Kurosaki. Later he turns out as a Quincy. His Quincy clan was destroyed by soul reapers so he holds a strong grudge against them.

Yasutora Sado

He is the best friend of Ichigo. He is a quiet but strong guy. He also gets superpowers after Ichigo becomes shinigami. He has superhuman strength. Later he develops it into Fullbring.

Bleach Seasons

S 1

In season one, Ichigo Kurosaki becomes shinigami with help of Rukia Kuchiki. But due to this Rukia loses her powers and gets trapped in the human world. So the first thing she does is to enroll in his class. Later she asks Ichigo to eliminate Hollows in her place. At first, he refuses but later agrees as his friends start to get possessed by the evil spirits. His friends, Sado, Uryu, and Orihime also gain superpowers and start helping Ichigo in battles.

At the end of the first season, two Soul reapers Byakuya and Renji take Rukia to soul society to punish her.

S 2

In this season, Ichigo, Uryu, Orihime, and Yoruichi go to soul society to rescue Rukia after learning that Rukia is going to get executed as a punishment.

This season is filled with lots of action as Ichigo fights with numerous Shinigami. Ichigo gets his Zampakuto. Zumpakuto is the evolution of the sword to the next level.

One of the most interesting characters we get to see in this season is Zaraki Kenpachi. I loved his entry. It literally gave me goosebumps. Ichigo vs Zaraki is one of the most hyped fights of this season.

This season ends with Yoruichi cat revealing her true forms. (I can never get tired of Ichigos’ reaction after seeing Yoruichi’s original form.)

S 3

In this season, the rescue mission continues. Ichigo and his friends get some training to face the ultimate battle. Ichigo vs Byakuya is the highlighted battle of this season. The most famous Bankai is revealed in this battle. Bankai is the second form of Sword.

In the end, Ichigo saves Rukia. But Aizen betrays Soul society and escapes to Hueco Mundo aka hell.

S 4

Everyone has returned to the human world, and they all resume their normal life. But to their surprise, Renji also joins their school.

This season focuses on Bounts. Bounts are vampire-like people who have superpowers. They kidnap Orihime and Sado. So everyone, including Rukia start looking for them. This results in face-off between them and Bounts.

S 5

Here Bount arc continues. Bounts crosses over to soul society and starts a war with Shinigami. In the final battle, Ichigo defeats Bount leader Jin Kariya. With this Bounts arc concludes.

S 6

The title of the sixth season is The Arrancar.

In this season, we get some truth about Quincy. Also, a New type of Hollow appears called Arrancar. These hollows have the powers of shinigami. They start evading the human world. Ichigo faces his own Hollow and defeats him. (Seriously, why Hollow Ichigo is damn hot!!)

S 7

The Arrancar arc continues. Ulquiorra kidnaps Orihime and takes her to Hueco Mundo aka hell. So Ichigo, Chad, and Ishida go there to save her. There they meet Nel, and they travel together to find Orihime. (Nel is the cutest character in the series. I love herrrr )

Later Rukia and Renji also go to Hueco Mundo to help Ichigo

S 8

The previous season continues in Hueco Mundo. This arc is filled with a good deal of fights. We will get to see character development for all characters.

 Ichigo gets his new Hollow form while fighting Grimmjow. He beats him in the end.

S 9

(You can skip this season)

This season is named, the new captain Shusuke Amagai arc.

The arc starts with Shusuke Amagai becoming the new captain of the Gin Ichimarus squad.

Three new students transfer to Ichigo’s class.  One of them is Rurichiyo, the princess. Ichigo and Rukia become her guards. But she suddenly disappears into soul society. As per her request, Ichigo kidnaps her fiance. This results in a battle between Shusuke Amagai and Ichigo Kurosaki.

S 10

S 8 continues. Ichigo manages to rescue Orihime. Espada vs Shinigami battles continue. Nel’s true form is revealed in this season. One of the best battles of this season is Zaraki vs Nnoitra.

S 11

Its title is the past arc. This arc focuses on Urahara Kisuke. We get to see his past story of him and how he got exiled from soul society.

S 12

S 10 continues here. War continues between Shinigami and Arrancar. Aizen comes to the human world but gets faced by Shinigami captains. Thanks to this we get to see numerous beautiful and cool Zampakutos of Captains.

 Ichigo tracks Orihime and goes to save her. The best battle of this season is between Ichigo Kurosaki and Ulquiorra.

S 13

This season’s title is Zumpakuto.

The man named Muramasa comes out of nowhere and declares war on soul society. He gives all Zumpakuto physical forms and frees them from swords. As a result, clashes happen between their owner and them. Ichigo also fights with Zangetsu.

This arc is quite amusing as we get to see the original forms of all Zampakutos.

S 14

S 12 continues. The season starts by resuming the battle between Ichigo and Ulquiorra. Ichigo reveals his final Hollow form called Vasto Lord and defeats Ulquiorra. But unable to control this form, he keeps attacking people. Uryu somehow stops him. After that, all of them return to the human world and start fighting against Aizen. Ichigo reveals his final Getsuga tensho against Aizen and defeats him.

And with this, this long-ass arc comes to an end.

S 15

Its title is Gotei 13.

The number of shinigami starts disappearing in soul society. Everyone suspects Ichigo for this. Rukia helps him escape soul society. But Ichigo’s shinigami powers keep fading every moment. They meet Nozomi who is another Shinigami.

This season is quite long.  But in this season, Ichigo will get new power named Fullbring.

S 16

This season is named the lost agent arc.

A year passes after Ichigo loses his power. Ichigo takes the help of Ginjo, but he later steals his power.  But all 13 captains help him regain his powers. We will get to see Ichigo in new and cool form again. He then fights Ginjo and defeats him.
