This children’s anime is set in a world where both men and monsters exist. Some people hunt the monsters, known as hunters, and some bond with and coexist with monsters known as Riders. The Rider lives in secrecy with their Otomon (the monsters they make a connection with). Their Kizuna Ishi (Bonding Stones) allows them to awaken the hidden power inside monsters.

In the Rider village of Hakum, lives a young boy who dreams of becoming the world’s best Rider. Before the ceremony where he was to receive his own Kizuna Ishi, he sets on a journey to find his Otomon. His partner Naville, childhood friend Cheval and Lilia accompanied him. Together they set out deep into the forest and had a miraculous encounter with a Rathalos.

13. Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter

This children’s anime is an adaptation of a Swedish children’s fantasy book Ronja Rövardotter. The story follows Ronja, the only child of a bandit chief. She grows up in a clan of robbers living in a castle in the woodlands of early-Medieval Scandinavia. When Ronja grows old enough, she often explores the forest, discovering its wonders and dangers. She learns how to live in the forest on her own, with the occasional rescue by her parents. Ronja’s life begins to change when she comes across a boy of her age named Birk, who turns out to be the son of the rival clan chief.

Folktales from Japan is a beautiful children’s anime. It teaches traditional morals to kids and the ability to see both the dark and bright sides of life. Almost half-hour episode of Folktales from Japan consists of three stories. Glad to get freedom, he becomes his liberator, Keita’s guardian against supernatural forces.
