Junichi Hashiba is your typical everyday guy, while he and his friends never had any girlfriends. Tricked by his friends, Junichi now has to ask Yukana Yame, the pretty girl in class, to go out with him. All in hopes of getting a girlfriend and….. maybe even losing his virginity. While initially opposed to his proposal, Yukana soon finds herself bonding with him as he learns to overcome his lack of self-confidence and control his urges.
Maybe there is indeed a happy ending waiting for them at the end? While watching this anime, what will remind you of Ijiranaide, Nagatoro san is that both shows star a weak guy with self-esteem issues cast opposite a stronger, far more confident female figure. Overall, the show is pretty funny and depicts various sides to the characters, giving them more depth rather than falling into generic tropes.

Umaru Doma is the perfect ideal high school student in class, overachieving and refined as she is. However, she’s got another side too. When he reunites with Hana Uzaki, his previous clubmate from high school, she’s surprised to see him changed so much. Determined to bring him out of his shell, she wants to hang out with Shinichi so that he once again becomes active.
While their social interactions are primarily awkward and hilarious, they still like to spend time together with each other. Even if it means that Hana would end up annoying him, as he remains reluctant, he still goes along with her hijinks. And so, romance and comedy ensue as you lose yourself in the hilarity of it all. To put it simply, the story is about an energetic and eccentric Hotaru Shidare who wants Kokonotsu Shikada, aspiring mangaka, to take over his family business of selling dagashi (traditional Japanese sweet snacks). At least, that is the condition for her to recruit Kokonotsu’s dad into her father’s lovely manufacturing company.
